Advanced Emergency Medical Technician

This training program is offered in partnership with Southern Maine Community College and is designed to give students, 通过讲座, 实验室, and clinical experiences, 的知识, and skills needed to provide advanced emergency medical care and transportation for patients who access the emergency medical system.
Students will demonstrate proficiency with interventions necessary to provide patient care and transportation including patient assessment, airway management and oxygen administration, cardiac arrest management, 危机管理, medication administration, 以及紧急护理.
另外, the training will provide students with an intense review of didactic and psychomotor experiences that simulates professional practice. Students will also complete a broad clinical experience to sharpen their skills.
Additional topics that will be covered on a comprehensive level shall include ambulance service management, concepts of lifelong learning, 质量改进, and the ALS providers’ role in the community. Students will have the opportunity to perfect assessment-based management through a case scenario approach.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be eligible to take the National Registry Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Certification.

Lecture for All Students: Tuesdays 9AM - 5PM
Lab Group A: Thursdays 9AM - 5PM*
Lab Group B: Fridays 8AM - 4 PM*
*Groups will be assigned upon acceptance to the program. -
Eligibility Requirements
